ITINERARY

06:00 - Pick up from your hotel in Colombo, Mount Lavinia or Negombo and then proceed to Kandy.


09:00 - Explore the Rich World of Spices at Mavanella's Well-Maintained Spice GardenIf you're passionate about spices, don't miss the opportunity to visit Mavanella's expertly kept spice garden. Sri Lanka has long been renowned for being one of the world's largest exporters of spices, which are not only used as a food source, but also for cosmetics and medicinal purposes. During your visit, you'll be treated to a sensory experience like no other, sampling the aromas and flavors of cinnamon, ginger, pepper, vanilla, and cardamom.

 

10:30 - Visit the Giragama Tea Factory, where tea cultivation began in Sri Lanka back in 1824. The Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya was home to the first few plants that were brought over from China. Spend an hour exploring the plantation and factory before making your way to the nearby city of Kandy, which is only a 30-minute drive away.

 

12:00 - Arrive at Oakray Restaurant for lunch. After lunch, you will visit a Gem Lapidary and Wood Carving center.


14:30 - Leave to visit Bahirawakanda Buddha stature that is known as big Buddha is one of the most scenic places in the city.


16:00 - Arrive at Kandy Temple. To the Buddhists of Sri Lanka and the World, Kandy is one of the most sacred sites as it is the home of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha. You will visit this wonderful temple followed by an upper lake drive. The Kandy Lake that was built by king Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1807 is one of the major highlights in the city. The upper lake drive is more scenic and memorable.


18:00 - Leave Kandy and proceed back to your hotel. You will arrive approximately at 21:00 to your hotel.
