As the former focal point of Theravada Buddhism for several centuries, it is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The relic chambers, including Ruwanveliseya, Abhayagiriya, and Jetavanaramaya, are the world's largest man-made brick structures and are not to be missed.

16:00 - Explore the Mihintale Buddhist MonasteryStep back in time to Sri Lanka's ancient past by visiting the Mihintale Buddhist Monastery. Once a dense jungle filled with wild animals and reserved for royal hunters, this historic site is where Mahinda Maha Thero, son of the Indian Emperor Asoka, met King Devamnampiyatissa in 250 BC. It was this meeting that led to the introduction of Buddhism to Sri Lanka.
