Day 1 - Depart UK to Colombo
Depart from London on an overnight flight bound for Colombo International Airport.
Day 2 - Arrive in Colombo
Meals: Dinner
Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to settle in and explore the surroundings.
Day 3 - Mount Lavinia to Sinharaja
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Begin your journey south toward the colonial town of Galle, renowned as Sri Lanka's most captivating urban attraction. On a guided city tour, discover the UNESCO World Heritage Galle Fort, with its Dutch-built walls dating back to the 18th century. Stroll through old colonial traders’ houses transformed into charming boutique galleries, shops, and cafés infused with local spices and tropical fragrances. After lunch in Galle, continue to Sinharaja Forest Reserve, Sri Lanka’s last major untouched rainforest, and settle in for two nights at the Rainforest Eco Lodge. Each chalet offers a private deck with breathtaking views of the forest canopy, rice paddies, and tea gardens. Conclude the day with a leisurely walk around the tea estate.
Day 4 - Sinharaja
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Start the day with a morning walk through the rainforest, spotting endemic birds, butterflies, and other wildlife. After breakfast, join a guided exploration of this UNESCO heritage site, discovering its unique biodiversity. End the day with a delicious dinner featuring ingredients from the lodge’s gardens.
Day 5 - Sinharaja to Nuwara Eliya
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Today, travel from the tropical lowlands to the cool, mountainous region of Nuwara Eliya. On the way, visit Udawalawe's Elephant Transit Home, where orphaned elephants are rehabilitated for release into the wild. Upon arrival in Nuwara Eliya, tour a tea estate and factory in the hills and learn about the tea-making process.
Day 6 - Nuwara Eliya to Passikudah
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Explore the British charm of Nuwara Eliya on a city tour, passing by the red post boxes, scenic Victoria Park, the historic golf course, and the Victorian-era post office. Continue to Passikudah via the small village of Mahiyangana. On arrival, check into your hotel for a two-night stay on the pristine white beaches of Sri Lanka’s eastern coast.
Day 7 - Passikudah
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Enjoy a relaxing day on Passikudah’s beautiful beaches. Options include snorkeling and diving in the vibrant coral reefs or unwinding with a good book on the sand.
Day 8 - Passikudah to Waikkal via Sigiriya
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Depart early to explore the magnificent Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dating back to the fifth century. Either climb to the top for spectacular views or take in the scenery from the surrounding lily-pad-covered moats. Next, visit a spice garden in Innamaluwa, where you’ll enjoy a foot massage before continuing to Waikkal for your overnight stay. Lunch will be served en route in Dambulla. (Please note: Photography is restricted in certain areas of Sigiriya, which will be clearly marked.)
Day 9 - Return to the UK
Meals: Breakfast
Transfer to Colombo Airport after breakfast for your return flight to the UK, taking back unforgettable memories of your Sri Lankan adventure.
